“I know, the Robbie from BLUE looks weird – extremely weird, but once you get past that, this is really an incredible preamp! Although tube, it has a “clean” sound. A big myth about tube-based mic pres is that they will produce a highly colored sound, but in reality tubes are wonderful for taking the edge off of the sound that is being processed directly through it. The Robbie offers some nice warmth to any track, but not so much that it’s changing the sound itself."
